I have made some changes to the template that I use on all pages of my web site, but now as I try to apply the new version of the template to existing pages to update them with the changes, I get this error:
I have no idea how to begin to resolve this because I don't understand what it's telling me. There are some options to choose from in the dropdown "Move content to new region," but I don't know what those mean. I've made earlier changes to the template and when I saved it, I would choose to update the pages, but I've never gotten this error before.
I'm a real novice in using Dreamweaver, so please give me step-by-step instructions on how to proceed. Thanks.

A product user-to-user forum is for posting basic user questions. Example, how do I create a new document? Or where do I find the Properties Panel?
Asking volunteers to build a new custom Template for your site goes beyond the scope of a product forum.
I'll let you decide what you think is the right thing to do.

Nancy--You and I will have to disagree on the purpose of a support community. I believe they typically exist when the company selling the product doesn't offer sufficient technical or user support directly to the consumer. Is there a phone number for Adobe product support that would have handled this type of question?

If a user doesn't know the answer to their question, how could they know whether or not it is a "basic user question." Is there something in the guidelines that says "No hard questions"? I naively thought that all I might need to do was add a couple more lines of code somewhere or match the region names together. But, I didn't know.

Please re-read my initial post. Did I ask anyone to "build a new custom Template"? I was stuck with a problem I didn't know how to solve, so I went where I thought the experts would be. I did read the chapter on templates and it didn't answer my question. The template I'm using WAS PURCHASED, then modified, and I made errors in doing that because I'm no Dreamweaver expert. I talked to everyone I knew who might have helped and I would have been willing to pay. Those techies scoffed at Dreamweaver and kept repeating how inferior it was to WordPress. They offered their services to completely rebuild the web site in WorkPress, but his web site is for a non-profit of which I'm a member and we don't have that kind of spare cash. I volunteer to keep the web site updated, spending at least 25 hours a month doing that. I don't know Lena or Birnou, but they are outstanding volunteer contributors. They volunteer because they want to be helpful, not because they expect to be paid. Any volunteer on this forum can scroll on past any questions that are too complicated or would take too much of their time to answer voluntarily. That's the key. To the best of my knowledge, we are all volunteers. Anyone who is a professional should be advertising their services elsewhere. If you DO expect to be paid for your answer, state that upfront so the user will know.

Thank you Lena and Birnou for doing the right thing.

I don't expect to be paid for answering questions about Dreamweaver. I do expect users to be respectful, considerate and not take advantage of other forum members.
Incidentally, if the shoe was on the other foot and you provided a free template to someone, I'd feel exactly the same way. 😮

The only supposed to be a child page that Birnou gave me is the one called members_only_index.html, but this page is not issue from a template.
Could you please send me at least two or three pages that are child pages ?

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to send the more recent message about still getting an error. I didn't know that you could drag a template from the assets panel onto a page to apply the template. I've been doing that with each child page and that works perfectly.
Thank you and Birnou for your time addressing my question. I didn't expect my question to be so controversial.

youps, coming back to the studio, I see the last exchanges of this thread, and I didn't imagine that by slipping this question to Lena, it would generate such a controversy.
However, thanks to the members of this community for intervening to avoid any abuse, and in that sense, I just discussed it with Lena, and in fact neither she nor I felt abused. In any case, the vigilance of all is appreciable.
Concretely, it took Lena about 15 minutes to work out the problem... she had that much time, at that moment, and enjoyed trying to help Motiger, who moreover acts as a volunteer in an association...
may the day be beautiful and pleasant for all
