Images when inserted into web page go in with incorect addressing.

Current method - place cursor in document where image is to be located - click on "Insert" --> "Image" --> Select Image. Image arrives with complete address back to root. Need it to be the same as the directory with image. Both files need to be in same directory. Problem only started recently. Worked good before. Files created locally, then manually uploaded to site.

#1 Are working in a defined local site folder?  Site > Manage Sites...  Example, C:\MyTestSite\

#2 Did you save your document to your local site folder BEFORE and AFTER you inserted the image?

#3 Are you working with valid, error-free code denoted by a green in a circle?

Window > Results > Validation > check document.

Question #1

Yes, it is a specific folder. However, I do not have the entire site in it. There is about 9 GB of data on the site and about 135,000 files, The working file/page can have up to about 200 or more images included on it when ready for upload. (Site is a genealogy research site, primarily a text formated site containing transcriptions of original historical documents plus cemeteries with headstone images. No animaion or any other special effects are included in the page.

Thus only the current file plus the images and shtml pages as they are created are on the local drive and when completed, with all of the images and shtml pages are then uploaded into the proper site directory.

See the following link for a sample of page type..

http://ngb.chebucto.org/Cemetery/cem-black-duck-brk-rc-stg.shtml

Yes the page uses SSI for headers and footers.

Ques #2

Yes the file was saved in the directory prior to inserting the image and then stored after the image is inserted.

Ques #3

Not sure - was unaware of this and normally do not run the validation as work is in an SHTML table file. Problems show up and can be corrected eaasily.

Quess #4 Yes, Document relative has been checked Same problem occurs when inserting an image or a hyperlink into the page

Thanks

Run your site pages through the online validation service and fix reported errors.  DW doesn't like code errors.
