Is there any way to keep code hinting on screen longer?
When typing a function, it is handy to see the expected parameters for a given function. Unfortunately, Dreamwaver closes the hint immediately without any key press.

Any way to extend the amount of time the hint remains visible?

The normal behavior for DW is to leave the code hinting up until you either change focus, or continue typing to the point where there is no hint to give.

It might be worthwhile to try restoring preferences. That catches all kinds of weird behavior in DW: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver.html

The hints are closing before any further key stroke or mouse action.

I understand what you're saying. It's not normal behavior for DW and there is no setting to modify the amount of time the hint stays on screen. It's supposed to stay until you click away or type something that has no hint. The only setting is a checkbox for "Enable Code Hints". If it's checked, they're on, and should remain on screen as I describe above.

If the installation you're using is doing something else, there's something wrong with that particular installation.

One of the most common troubleshooting steps is to Restore Preferences when weird things start happening within DW. It has been pretty much "Step 1" as far as troubleshooting odd behavior, since the old Macromedia days.

The link I gave above is for Creative Cloud versions of DW. If you have an older Creative Suite version, use this link instead: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver-cs4-cs5.html

Let us know if Restoring Preferences works for you, if it doesn't, there are a few other troubleshooting steps you can try.

Thanks.. I'll give it a try. It is tempting to go back to v0.0.0.21.
This and the slow typing bug that keeps coming back are too much.

Do you have a multi-display or mono-display set-up?
