Live view

LEGEND ,

On my notebook live view in CS4 results in displaying blank pages.
although there are some pages that work (no idea why, coding is ok). The
browser preview works for FF, IE and others.
Any idea how to sort out the problem?

PLease don't hijack other threads as you have done. Start a new thread with
a descriptive subject line instead.

(By the way - read DW's F1 help about how to define a site and upload files)

Same result as before. The preview works - I see the "Hello", live view
doesn't work.
The extremely annoying point is, that one php-page displays properly in
live view, but the other does not. If it consistently failed, life would
be easier ;)
A CS4 reinstall? Should I do it as last resort?

For the record:

I've contacted Adobe support and uploaded the site definition (testing
server etc.). Everything was as it should be, so the support supposes a
coding error (although everything works on my desktop computer) and
declared the case closed.

Now I have to decide to reinstall dreamweaver and/or to substitute xampp
by separate installations of php and mysql.

The solution was provided by Al Sparber in the main Dreamweaver Forum:

"The Live View toggle is affected by your preference setting to either
Hide or Show Related Files. Since Gerry and I considered the Related
Files feature to be totally illogical in how it was implemented
(compared to well-programmed code editors), that's one of the first
things we turned off. Turning it back on fixes the toggle. Of course, I
turned related files off again as I would rather live with a screwy
toggle for a feature I never use anyway 🙂 "

Dooza: This particular thread, although bearing exactly the same subject as
the thread on the DW forum, had nothing to do with that particular issue
discussed on the DW forum. But thanks for reposting Al's solution!

Oh c**p, sorry Leolux, I have given you hope for no good reason. I got
confused with another thread that was already going on.
