No solution to "Dreamweaver can't find the menus.xml file"

New Here ,
May 15, 2019 May 15, 2019

I've got CS5 installed on my desktop computer and I have just installed Dreamweaver cloud based 2019 on a 7 days trial.

I can open the new Dreamweaver while logged on with a standalone account on my computer.

When I try to open it while I'm logged on with the network account I get the error of menus.xml file.

This is on Windows 10 and my standalone and network accounts have both the level of administrator on my computer.

I've tried changing security settings and removing, copying files to no avail.

What else can I do? I would like to be able to try it before the trial expires.

Many thanks in advance.

Go to

C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC 2019\LANUAGE\Configuration\Menus

and delete Menus.xml. Restart Dreamweaver. You will have to reinstall your extensions if you have them.

Hi Cecilia,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with Dreamweaver. I have found a similar post on Dreamweaver Forum, would you mind checking this thread: Dreamweaver Can't Find Menus.xml and let us know if that helps?

Thanks,

Harshika

Try: close Dreamweaver, rename the folder called Configuration to Config-backup and restart Dreamweaver. The folder can be found in my other reply.

I tried to save you this, but it now looks like your only option: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

I downloaded and run the cleaner tool but nothing changed, still the same message. Thanks anyway.

Did you perform a clean re-install of DW?
