Problem installing Dreamweaver of CS5 on new laptop

I'm installing Dreamweaver, part of CS5 Design/Web on my new laptop Win11. The programme is a pepetual one. The activationcode (see attachment) was accepted during installation. But not using the programme. On my old laptop there is no problem. I found a deactivation option on the old laptop. But it did not work. In my adobe account the programme is not mentioned.

Chatting with Adobe, Madhu gave me this community to get an activationcode.

Hope you can help.

The forum is not Adobe Customer Care, we cannot give you an activation number of any kind. The vast majority of users here are not Adobe employees and have no access to your account with Adobe.

Madhu was mistaken as to what we could provide and likely needs a refresher course in what the forum is for.

That being said, is ther any error popping up when you attempt to open the program?

Serial numbers are specific to the installation language and operating system of the initial purchase. They also may require an activation number from an older version if the current software is an upgrade version of CS5 (it will say Upgrade in multiple locations on the software packaging).

If anything doesn't match, the activation number will show as invalid.

Could that be a possibility here?

It may be worth trying the Adobe Cleaner Tool to completely remove all traces of the program from your system and attempt a reinstall.

If you see any errors during installation, especially "activation limit reached" or "license revoked" make note of them. Only Adobe Customer Care can reset your activation limit (you need to request it, they won't offer it) and a "license revoked" error would mean the license you have was part of a volume license illegally sold to multiple third party users. Once revoked, there's no fix other than getting a CC subscription.

Madhu checked it in the chat. It is a perpetual programma. The activationcode works till using the programme. The programme functiones on my old laptop.

The CC Cleaner tool isn't just for Creative Cloud. It was actually the CS Cleaner Tool before they changed the marketing materials to Creativve Cloud from Creative Suite. It may still work for you.

As I mentioned above, the forum is not Adobe Customer Care and the vast majority of the people here are not Adobe employees, including myself.

Nobody in the forum can give you a new activation code, however, I don't think even Adobe will do that any longer. CS4, CS5 and CS6 are no longer sold or supported.

Legacy Creative Suite was never tested on Win11.  We make no guarantees this will work.

 

CS5 is discontinued & unsupported. That's the risk you take with outdated software from 14-15 years ago.
