Project Seven?

Contributor ,

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what's happened to Project Seven? Their site is down. Has Gerry pulled the plug and moved on to something else? What a shame. I migrated a few sites over to WP using Bricks Builder, which I like, but nothing compares to P7's addons. I keep waiting for something from Adobe — a follow-up to Dreamweaver — but nothing.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Kind regards,

Mark

Have a look here, maybe you will find some of the extensions that you are looking for.

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!

Thanks Jon. It looks as though the disappointed is wide spread. Like others have mentioned, I was always surprised Adobe never acquired Project Seven. Adding that level of functionality to Dreamweaver would have made it so much better than it was.

========

I have zero expectations of a follow-up beyond what's currently offered—

  • Adobe Express (social media content),
  • Portfolio/Behance (showcasing projects online),
  • XD (UI/UX design),
  • Adobe Experience Manager/e-Commerce (B2B & B2C experiences).

If Adobe had had any desire to create new web software or to compete with popular online site building platforms, they would have done it before now. Instead, they turned the lights off on Brackets, Edge, Muse, Fireworks, XD & DW. The latter two are being "kept alive" for the sake of existing users. They're not saying for how long.

As I write this, DW is still sold as a single app subscription for those who want it, but XD is not. All users are urged to find suitable replacements that are in active development. See some alternatives listed below.

XD Access Requires:

  1. A paid subscription to the Creative Cloud All Apps plan,
  2. Toggling a setting in the CC Desktop App.

There's not much future for extensions of dead or dying products. Some like PVII have folded their tents. Others were able to pivot to thriving products.
