Recover files after a computer crash

While working in Dreamweaver my computer crashed. After restarting my computer all of my files had saved exept the the index.html file, it's now blank. Is there a way to recover this file from before the crash or after the last saved version?

Did you save the index.html prior to the crash?  DW CC has a recovery feature but it only works if the file had been saved at least once before the crash.

Do you routinely keep reliable backups on dedicated backup & recovery disks or cloud services like DropBox, Google Drive or Backblaze?

At any point, did you upload the index.html file to your site's remote server?

Yes I have saved numerous times before. How do I access the recovery feature? I've checked the file syncing in the creative cloud but nothing was in there.

File recovery is automatic when you restarted the software. 

If the file was not recovered, sadly it is was probably corrupted during the crash.
