Update linting in Dreamweaver to understand arrow functions

LEGEND ,

Dreamweaver really needs to come into the 21st Century.

I created an arrow function, and Dreamweaver is saying that it's a "Syntax error".  Please see attached image.

The function works, there is no syntax error.  Please fix this.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

What about updating to VSCode?

DW is zombieware, dead but still moving.

Adobe announced about 5 years ago that they would no longer be actively developing the program, moving it to a "Minimum Development Status".

No bug fixes, no new features.

The only things they plan to do going forward are some third party library updates, security patches, and OS compatibility fixes.

I just turn off linting and use online validators instead, if I use DW to work on something it doesn't understand.

Thank you to Ben and Jon for your suggestions.  I just learned that VSCode was submitted for evaluation a few weeks ago.  If it passes the tests of the network security gods, it will be added to the approved software list.  Once that happens, I most likely will make the switch.

I knew things were going downhill for Dw when Adobe took away (or at least seriously damaged) CF support.  (I'm trying to get my org to switch to Lucee.. I have been in contact with their devs, and they really seem to be on the ball.  Really receptive to suggestions, ideas, etc.)

I did a Google search for "Dreamweaver feature suggestions" and clicked on a link that appeared to be the place to post my idea.  I _thought_ it was the wishform.  I was perplexed when it got moved here.  This is Dw Discussion, not the place I'd go to suggest an idea/feature.  Pretty sure the Adobe devs rarely (if ever) poke their collective heads in here.

V/r,

Apart from some essential security updates, Dreamweaver has been static since 2021.

What you see now is all you get.

I use DW alongside other coding tools that are in active development.

There is a Cold Fusion Builder extension for VS Code, but not for DW.  Go figure!

Adobe took down the Wish Form and Uservoice forum for DW feature requests and bug reports a few years back.

It's only being kept alive for current users. My guess is they'll pull the plug when the userbase dwindles far enough.
