Unbelievable how much crap one has to go through in a lifetime with this company! I've spent literally thousands of dollars over the years and it seems like I need to go through some nonsense like this once or twice every year.
My Dreamweaver CS5 WAS working previously, up until shy of a month ago when I begin getting the alert telling me that I've got so many days left in my trial.
I've repeatedly gone down the deactivate, uninstall and reinstall process using both the windows Programs Uninstall method as well as Creative Cloud App method...as well as making use of the Adobe cleaner tool. Still no progress.
Mind you, my login credentials will work at each instance of the install but then NOT work after I try to run the program.
Is it too much to ask of a supposed technically advanced company like this one to offer up software sans problems? Is it!???
Here's the thing. CS5 used a serial number as did all Creative Suite products. No log-in ID required.
Since CS5 has not issued an update since it came out and it's no longer supported, there's nothing for you to register. It's legacy software with no guarantees whatsoever. Those ran out 18 mos after CS6 came out.
Your serial number came with 3 activation opportunities. If you have used up all 3 activations and not deactivated earlier installs, you'll need to contact Adobe Customer Care and h

Run the Adobe CC/CS Cleaner Tools below to wipe all traces of Creative Suite off your system. Then re-install CS5.
Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

As mentioned in my original post, I've already been down that road with more than one version of those 'Cleaner' tools. Still the same problem.

What do you mean by "more than one of those Cleaner Tools?"
There's only one Adobe CC Cleaner Tool. And that's the only one you should use. It's specific to Adobe products and removes old registry and other settings files which are no doubt causing you grief.

After reinstalling. Reboot computer.
The first time you launch the re-intalled app, run as admin by right clicking your desktop icon.

Of the specific tool you mentioned, yes, I got it twice from two different Adobe URLs and had tried numerous times
Not to mention making use of the Adobe uninstaller and the Adobe Limited Access Repair tool.
I keep ending up in the same spot with 2 days left to my supposed trial and not being able to log in from that page telling me so, despite being able to log in moments earlier, each time, when initially reinstalling DW

Your serial number came with 3 activation opportunities. If you have used up all 3 activations and not deactivated earlier installs, you'll need to contact Adobe Customer Care and have them reset your activation count. DO NOT tell them you use CS5. Just say you need an activation count reset. If they give you any trouble, ask for a supervisor.
Important Note: CS5 is not certified to run on modern operating systems. If you're using Win10 with all the latest updates, it's quite possible Windows updates have rendered your computer incompatible with older software. It does happen. Win Anniversary update caused a a lot of problems for people.
That's about all I can suggest.
Good luck.
