Fireworks is not a long-term solution that can be sustained indefinitely. Eventually, Windows will be updated such that you'll have to find other software you can use. In the meantime, make sure to convert all layered PNGs to file formats that support layers and can be opened by other graphics editors (TIFF, PSD, PDF, etc...).  Be prepared to migrate when the time comes. 😊

Thanks Nancy - I think maybe Adobe should listen to its USERS, people don't want Fireworks to be ditched, they want it kept as it's an easy to use tool that speeds things up for lots of Adobe Users.

Adobe gave up on Fireworks in 2012.  That ship sailed long ago...

Nobody from Adobe looks at this user-to-user board anymore.  This space is also on borrowed time.

Eventually it will be switched to READ ONLY status as always happens with End of Life products.

Update 07/27: apparently Adobe has reactivated Fireworks through the Creative Cloud account, now we can get our Fireworks back legally

Follow the steps:

1- Install Adobe Muse first
2- Install Fireworks
3- Install Adobe Manager
4- Set PDApp.exe to open as administrator in Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDApp.exe
5- Open Fireworks and click on License this software
6- Log in with your Adobe account on your PC or QR code on your cell phone

and that's it, Fireworks will open without needing a serial number.

If anyone can do this, please confirm here

What do you mean install Adobe Manager? Login to your account? You need to be logged in to install, these steps don't make any sense to me!!

Adobe Application Manager (checks for updates).

The installation version of fireworks cs6 through Creative Cloud is coming without Adobe Manager, which caused this whole problem. If you encounter this error, follow the steps described in this link, https://community.adobe.com/t5/fireworks-discussions/fireworks-not-working-after-installing-on-new-c.... If you already have Adobe Manager installed, you don't need to do anything and can skip step 3.
