Some Facebook flash games are very slow in Chrome browser after update.
For example, mouse click response appear a few seconds in game.

It would be interesting to see exactly what your customers are seeing. I just played the first 5 levels of Hidden Express with Win10/Chrome 46/FP 19.0.0.226 and everything seemed to work perfectly for me. Has anyone posted video of what they are seeing occur? Any similarity between these systems and the other software they might have running (utilities, virus scanners, etc.)?

It just so happens that one affected user has sent me a video:
I haven't noticed any pattern in peripheral programs. If you send an email to help@makingfun.com (from the same email you use for Facebook), I can manually adjust your game data, so you can attempt the same level.

Hi Chris,
Our game, Dragon King Mahjong: https://apps.facebook.com/dragonkingmahjong/, is also experiencing this problem. I posted some information on this thread on October 27th and 28th. The players that are affected are seeing the game skip frames, sometimes for a few seconds, while the game and animation loops seem to be keeping their timing. The customers that seem most affected appear to have lower spec machines (of course). I speculate there were graphics caching changes made in 19.0.0.226 that are causing multiple cache flushes while rendering a single frame on low memory devices. Note: some have reported problems as early as 19.0.0.207, and the problem exists in any browser with this version of the Flash Player, not just Chrome (Chrome was just hit first since it forced a security update that had this player in it). There does not appear to be any connection between any other software or update and this problem (variety of OS, browser, virus scanners, etc).

Mock, are you able to reproduce the problem locally? If so, you may want to try installing this debugging version of v20: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/flashplayer_20_ppapi_debug.exe. I've sent it out to a few users to test, because my team and I can't repro, but I haven't heard back yet.

Thumpr-_-‌, no we cannot repro locally either. The machines that users report problems with seem to be older or low-end PC's. I've been considering seeing if we can get something older from a Salvation Army store to attempt to repro on that.

I was also able to get some system info from this user:
Do you have an ETA for when v20.x will go live?

Can anyone tell me what the issue is with Adobe and the games on Facebook? I'm using Google Chrome. Running Windows XP 32bit. I've been having issues for the last month were the mouse pointer is all over the place and the game itself is slow. Plus. When I play videos from the news or sports websites. It freezes and it's slow.

This thread is regarding problems specifically with Flash (and Flash based games). Unfortunately, uninstalling Flash permanently is not an option for this group, JAGUAR6CY‌.

I suspect we're dealing with this bug:
Bug#4075698 - mouse's movement delay
We've been able to reproduce it internally (though I was never able to on my system) and I'm working to see how quickly we can get a fix (once found) out. I've made sure our engineering managers are aware that this is a very serious issue currently impacting customers. I'll keep on this and hopefully have another update soon.
Chris

Hi,
We have investigated this issue.
we narrowed it down and found that it is chrome's bug which started coming from chrome M46 version.
The issue has been reported to chrome.
Please follow up.

Kratika,
Thanks for the update. Do you have a link to the Chrome bug report? We would like to track the issue.
There have been users reporting the same issue in Firefox after the same Flash update (.226). Did you also resolve the problem in Firefox?
Thanks

Kratika,
After reviewing the Chrome issue, I believe this is not the issue being raised by this post. Chrome may have a problem with the mouse while frame rates are slow, but Flash has also introduced a performance problem that is causing frames to be dropped. The Chrome mouse issue is just more prevalent because the Flash performance problem makes it more noticeable. Games that used to run smoothly in Flash before 19.0.0.226 have slower frame rates now, particularly on slower/older computers. Is there another bug for this issue?

Hi John,
It's hard to differentiate the Flash version from the Chrome version, since Flash is a bundled component of Chrome, and they generally sim-ship.
I'd be happy to take a more in-depth look, but I need to be able to reproduce the problem first. It would be really useful to collect some dxdiag logs from affected users, so that we can find comparable hardware. My guess is that Chrome blacklisted some problematic GPU drivers, and you're seeing an uptick in user complaints. Nothing really jumps out in terms of recent changes that would have created huge performance regressions for Stage3D content, and we have a pretty extensive battery of manual scenario tests and automated micro-benchmarks that are run continuously as ship criteria.
My guess is that the underlying issue here is going to come down to a browser change, and/or a GPU blacklist thing. Before I can do anything about either, I need to be able to reproduce the issue, which is where a few dxdiag logs would be useful in terms of narrowing down our testing effort. It would also be nice to know if any of those impacted users experience relief from Chrome Canary.
Thanks! Also, feel free to send me a PM if you're not getting a timely response.

Hi Jeromiec,
Players of my Facebook canvas game are suffering this slowness problem. They started complaining about 2 months ago. Since I didn't change any source code of my game, I made a lot of tests. And now I'm pretty sure this is a bug of Chromium 46, 47 + PPAPI flash player.
First of all, below are the steps to reproduce the problem (In any browser that is based on Chromium 46, 47 and uses PPAPI flash player 19, 20):
1. https://apps.facebook.com/europartytown
2. Go to the third shop "Fitting Fashion" (at the bottom of the game). This shop loads more resources than others and is the slowest.
3. In this shop, try to move left and right, then click on shop items. The slowness is unbearable.
But in other browsers, including browsers that is based on older versions of Chromium, the slowness problem disappears. My tests:
Chrome 46, 47; Opera 33; SRware Iron 46 (Chromium 46, 47 + PPAPI flash): Slow;
Chrome 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, Opera 32, IE, Firefox, Edge, many other browsers: Not slow.
I don't know the problem is because of Chromium or both Chromium and PPAPI flash player, so I post this problem in both crbug.com and here. I hope you can check this issue. I'm looking forward to your reply.
Thanks

I'm going to lock this thread, since the history here isn't helpful. The root cause(s) for the majority of the posts in this thread have long since been addressed.
If you're currently experiencing a performance issue with Chrome, we'd be happy to investigate, but we'll need a reasonable amount of detail:
