I experienced the same thing when I played the game Tom Clancy's The Division But after a restart everything was good again!

I'm going to lock this thread, since the history here isn't helpful.  The root cause(s) for the majority of the posts in this thread have long since been addressed.

If you're currently experiencing a performance issue with Chrome, we'd be happy to investigate, but we'll need a reasonable amount of detail:

This thread is regarding problems specifically with Flash (and Flash based games). Unfortunately, uninstalling Flash permanently is not an option for this group, JAGUAR6CY‌.

I suspect we're dealing with this bug:

Bug#4075698 - mouse's movement delay

We've been able to reproduce it internally (though I was never able to on my system) and I'm working to see how quickly we can get a fix (once found) out.  I've made sure our engineering managers are aware that this is a very serious issue currently impacting customers.  I'll keep on this and hopefully have another update soon.

As the community manager for a gaming publisher, I have received numerous reports of this for one of our Facebook games, Hidden Express: Hidden Express on Facebook | Facebook. All reports come from users running Chrome 46.x with PPAPI 19.0.0.226. The reports started rolling in on October 16th, which does not coincide with any of our updates/patches/code changes. Despite 3 weeks of investigating and making optimizations and fix attempts, our engineers have been unable to resolve the issue.

Hi @thumpr-_-

Is there a bug logged with reproduction steps at https://bugbase.adobe.com?  Is this happening on Windows, Mac, or both?

It would be interesting to see exactly what your customers are seeing.  I just played the first 5 levels of Hidden Express with Win10/Chrome 46/FP 19.0.0.226 and everything seemed to work perfectly for me.  Has anyone posted video of what they are seeing occur?  Any similarity between these systems and the other software they might have running (utilities, virus scanners, etc.)?

Hi Chris,

Our game, Dragon King Mahjong: https://apps.facebook.com/dragonkingmahjong/, is also experiencing this problem. I posted some information on this thread on October 27th and 28th. The players that are affected are seeing the game skip frames, sometimes for a few seconds, while the game and animation loops seem to be keeping their timing. The customers that seem most affected appear to have lower spec machines (of course). I speculate there were graphics caching changes made in 19.0.0.226 that are causing multiple cache flushes while rendering a single frame on low memory devices. Note: some have reported problems as early as 19.0.0.207, and the problem exists in any browser with this version of the Flash Player, not just Chrome (Chrome was just hit first since it forced a security update that had this player in it). There does not appear to be any connection between any other software or update and this problem (variety of OS, browser, virus scanners, etc).

In consideration of OP I'm going to start a new topic primarily for Flash games outside of Facebook, so this thread isn't "cluttered" with my issues. Hope everything goes well here!

try browser called opera.  its worked for me but im not on facebook.

Thanks for the suggestion, but Opera yielded the same results for me.

In case I didn't make it clear, (and no, I'm not calling you or anyone else out ) Flash is slow on local files for me as well (what Midius was referring to). I bought the Submachine games a while back and with the new Flash player everything seems to have slowed down. So I'm thinking that it truly is a Flash issue and not browser-based (at least, for me and Midius anyway). But I'm still confused about what differs between Internet Flash and global Flash (local files) and how it affects one or the other, so I might be wrong.

I am not on Facebook so I can't say the same for Facebook games, but I imagine the problem can't be any better there, considering I've run into problems with Flash lag on Kongregate, Armor Games, Freewebarcade, Pastel Games...

Responses appreciated!

not just facebook games.  my game on games.co.uk (family barn) is at least 20 seconds behind my initial click.  its unplayable at the moment.  they offered a fix on macromedia support forum but its gone now probably cos it didnt fix it  anyway.  come on Adobe -there must be a solution.

I have had the exact same problem too with online and local flash game files (.swf and .exe) ever since I got my ASUS Windows 10 laptop this spring.

Exact same specs:

Browser: Chrome

Browser version: 46.0.2490.71 m

Flash version: 19.0.0.226 PPAPI

The main game series I'm concerned about this working for is Submachine, for example Submachine 9 at http://mateuszskutnik.com/submachine/submachine_9.swf. It runs slower than it did on my old computer (a Windows Vista). And the downloadable executable file for Submachine 9 is almost unbearable to play (main concern: the sliding motion between screens).

Sorry zeorymoney for hijacking your post, but I have been concerned with this issue for months now and would love to fix it. Also by posting the above games I hope this relates to your problem and anyone else who has this problem.

For me only flash game files work poorly, not other things like YouTube. Again, sorry for jacking the post, but I saw the opportunity and took it. Hopefully others who have the same problem can share their details in this thread if their problems match up, no?

Hi,

Please share any game URL for which issue occurs.

Thanks

URL of lagging game:

http://www.plazmaburst2.com/?s=2
Set game settings to max (including 60 FPS) and play first level. Once you see alive enemy - shot using weapon binded to key 2. You will notice that screen is not updating during complex calculations but sounds is played well. Test it in Firefox and you will see how it should work and was working before changes made to Pepper Flash Player / Flash Player.

Exact same problem here and not just for me.

PepperFlash version Flash Player started to lag in really bad way when running in Google Chrome (and possibly in Opera).

I noticed it when I got contacted by multiple players of my game. I was able to repeat this bug on my computer.

It literally can drop frames for few seconds in case of low performance. It looks like game freezes but sounds and application logic still are being played as usually.

From the other side in Firefox Flash Player lags a little bit when complex calculations occur and does not stop screen refresh.

My configuration: Windows 7, Google Chrome (46.0.2490.71 m), Flash Player (v19.0.0.226).

Configuration of players who contacted me: Windows 10, Google Chrome / Opera.

It seems like it happens to my game and other games too. Through my game was remaining unchanged for a pretty long time now.
