Adding Text after an Anchored Frame

New Here ,
Nov 01, 2012 Nov 01, 2012

I'm editing a document on Framemaker 8. There exist a numbered list. I required to add a screenshot to point 2. So I created an anchored frame and successfully placed the screenshot graphic on it. Now the problem is I cannot add text after the anchored frame. Point 3 has gone to the next page, even though there is plenty of white space at the bottom of the page, after the anchored frame. I'm unable to place my cursor after the anchored frame so that I can press Delete and bring up point 3. Please help.

What you've posted is insufficient for a precise answer, but here are some usual suspects ...

What are the Anchoring Position and Alignment properties of the anchored frame? If Bottom of Column, it's going to do exactly what you see.

Do you have View > Borders enabled?
If not, the anchoring frame may be very much larger than needed, and pushing #3 off the page.

Also, turn off Run-Around for the imported image.

What are the Pagination properties of your Numbered paragraph format (esp. Keep With, widows & orphans).

Less likely: it is usually difficult (in the Asian sense of "impossible") to select an anchor when the adjacent text is a Variable, Cross-Reference or Inset. A trick you can use is to place the cursor in some characters earlier in the line, and use the right-arrow key [->] to move the cursor to near the anchor. Then type (insert) some wide character, say "W", then [->], W, etc., until the anchor is selectable.

Thanks for the response!

The Ancoring Position is Below Current Line

Alignment: Left

Pagination and Image Run Around Property screenshot are attached.

When I place the cursor at the end of point 2 and press the right arrow key, it takes the cursor to the next page point 3.

Hope these inputs help to provide me a solution.

What are the keep with next/previous settings of the paragraph after #3?

It might have a Keep with Previous that is dragging #3 to the next page.

In any case, if you place the cursor at the end of #2, and hit [Return], it should create a new, empty, #3 right where you want it. If not, something else is driving content out of that page space.

Click an inch or two to the right of your figure title, press Return, and set that paragraph format to Body, or some other "basic" paragraph format.

Item 3 is sitting at the top of the page because of its paragraph format, or the Keep with Previous setting of a paragraph of the paragraphs after Item 3, or because of a graphic/table placed into Item 3.
