Are there plans for FrameMaker to support variable fonts?

Our corporate style guide specifies the Roboto font, which is a variable font. Are there any near-term plans for FrameMaker to support variable fonts?

Hi Pam:

Welcome to the FrameMaker Community forum. We are users like you, and if we are part of the beta, we are under NDA so can't speak to what may or may not be coming down the road.

I would look for a Roboto look-alike for FrameMaker and/or explain the Roboto limitation to the in-house designer responsible for your style guide.

As an aside, InDesign supports variable fonts but depending on the complexity of your layout, InDesign may not be a viable option for your documentation.

Hi,

There is also a static version of Roboto. Therefore you can install those font weights which you need.

https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto

The same with Google Open Sans which is my company font.

Best regards, Winfried
