There's been a few discussions about this earlier, but no resolution. I also saw where somebody coded "Framescipt" to automate thumb tabs, but I can't find it to save my life.
Dumb Q - does Frame even have a scripting language built in? If so, how's it documented?
Finally, I'd REALLY appreciate any help along these lines to automate bleeding thumb tabs, staggered down the page for each chapter. ANY help would be so much appreciated!

Have you looked at this thread?

Alternatively, you can do a Google search for: "Brad Anderson FrameMaker tabs"
FrameScript is a third-party scripting language for FM - which doesn't have a built in scripting language, though the unix version does have macro capability.

Thanks for the reply!
I saw that post early on, and the text that followed. But I haven't seen the code. I even checked the framescript.com site, and there were no samples for thumbs.
Did anyone get in touch with the original author (circa 2000) and maybe even get the code?
For what we're doing, Framescript will be worth the cost (about 35 chapters, they must wrap around at the end etc)
Thanks so much
Alex

Try Google for: "Brad Anderson" BeyondPrint
You should find some references for contact with that.

Alternatively, try contacting Rick Quatro at http://www.frameexpert.com for a script to do this. Highly recommended.

If you really think about Brad's technique, you only need to insert one marker in each chapter (35 in total for your case) to accomplish this. A bit of math to get the size and spacing of the tabs, one master page (or two if you want double-sided) and you're all set without any additional scripting.
