Can I use a Running H/F in consecutive files?

I have a "Running H/F" using the definition <@paratext[Title]>.

I would like to use it in several consecutive fm files in a book. Unfortunately for me, FrameMaker clears the variable to "" for each individual file. Is there a way to carry over the variable?

Thanks,
Jeff

In the book file window, highlight the target chapters that have the empty variable. Do File > Import > Import Formats, pick the correct source file, and activate Variables. (You may need to import both Page Layouts and Variables, if you've set up the headers already.)

Unfortunately, that imports the Variable "Definitions", I'm looking for the Variable "Value" from the previous file.

However, your inspiration did give me an idea that did work.

Thank you,
Jeff
