Como salvar books e documentos criados em Framemaker versão 2017 para versão 2015?

Hi Richard,
I do not know, if I understand you correctly.
Do you want to know how you can save a file from FrameMaker 2017 as a file for FrameMaker 2015?
In FrameMaker 2017 you have the option to save back as FrameMaker 2015 file. Just check the file formats in the Save As dialog.
You can also save as MIF (not MIF for 7.0!). MIF files from higher versions can be interpreted correctly in older FrameMaker versions. Elements and attributes which did not exist in the older version will be ignored.
Best regards
Winfried

Melhores cumprimentos

Hi Winfried,
Excuse me, I asked you an incomplete question. The problem is that I
saved structured documents made in the 2017 version as 2015 and the
client informed me that the 2015 version saved does not run on his
Framemaker 2015. Is there any reason for this to have happened?

Hi,
Which error message does your client get?
Can you describe in more detail what happens?

Hi Winfried
The error message is that the documents saved as FM2015 from FM 2017
does no run in their systems. I resolved getting the FM 2015 programm,
open and saved again. So, i believe that the save as command in FM
2017does not work properly. Any way, the problem was solved. Thank you
for the help.

Hi,
When you just open a FM file in a regular text editor, you see the FM version in the beginning of the file.
E.g. when I save my FM 2019 file as FM 2017, the first words are: <MakerFile 14.0>
This way you can check, if your Save As FM 2015 had worked.
You can also check this first with a dummy file.
Best regards

Thank's again Winfried,
I saw it it opening a FM 2015 (MakerFile 13.0) document in Word. The
documents i saved in FM 2017 to FM 2015 appear as MakerFile 14,0, that
means, the save as FM 2015 command on FM 2017 does not work.
But as I said earlier, I installed the FM 2015 (try option) and the docs
saved in 2017 opened perfectly. So I saved them again and they worked on
the client. Now I'll definitely buy it to have it also on my computer.
Let it be a warning to anyone who has the FM 2017.
Best regards

Before you invest in a copy of FM 2015, there are a couple more things to try.
First, though, please confirm whether my understanding of the problem is correct. I think that you are creating documents in FM 2017, saving them as FM 2015 documents, and then sending them to a customer who is using FM 2015. While you can open them in your trial copy of FM 2015, the customer cannot open them. Furthermore, when you open the FM 2015 of a document and save the result and save this second FM 2015 version to the customer, the customer can open it.
Rather than concluding that FM 2017 cannot save FM 2015 documents, if my summary is accurate, it seems that the file produced by FM 2017 is indeed an FM 2015 document, but it is different in some internal way than the file produced by FM 2015. The fact that you and your customer have inconsistent results in trying to open the version produced by FM 2017 suggests that you are running different patches of FM 2015. I believe the latest one is 13.0.5.547. You and your customer should both use the Help > About FrameMaker command to make sure the version numbers match. If not, use Help > Updates, to update.
Something else you can try is, instead of saving the FM 2017 document as an FM 2015 document, save it as MIF 2017. MIF (Maker Interchange Format) is a text file that contains everything in a binary FM document. FM 2015 can read an FM 2017 MIF file, it just won't be able to process anything in the FM 2017 file that is not available in FM 2015.
Good luck and let us know if either of these suggestions solve the problem.

Hi Lynne
You understood the problem correctly. This fact may generate some
interpretations of what was done to correct my client's problem. At
first I forgot to mention that the document is structured. Second, when
the document is made in a higher version than the one you are saving as,
the program warns you that some data may be lost, and I think that was
the case. The fact that I have opened documents saved as 2015 through
the correct version, look for lost data and saved again seems to have
corrected the problem for my client who accused the proper functioning
of them. There is still the learning about the option to save them in
MIF format, which was not necessary.
Thank you immensely for the answers and attention.

Hi,
You wrote that the first words in your FM 2015 file are still MakerFile 14.0.
Can you please save a FM 2017 file again as FM 2015 file and check the first words?
I would be surprised, if this feature would not work.
I only have FM 2019, but when I save as FM 2017, the first words are changed to MakerFile 14.0.
I cannot test this with FM 2017.
Best regards

Hi Winfried
You're right. I opened the file saved in the 2015 version and the first
words refer to the 2015 version (13). In the previous email I made
confusion with thinking that it was the 2017 version.
The problem was in the structure that was all broken. What I did was
also save the EDD to the 2015 version, reapply it to the documents and
hit the red bugs that appeared. That worked. Anyway, I am immensely
grateful for the immediate help, apologizing for the confusion. Every
situation is a learning experience.
Best regards
