FM newbie here

Is it possible to convert equations in a Framemaker document into TeX strings?  In other words: parse a document for equations and blow them up into equivalent TeX string?

Thanks

I'm happy to write to them as well. I don't understand how this is a different topic- it deals with whether equations (in this case matrix equations) are parsed. I'll write and post if I find out anything. Phil

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood what the issue is - I was getting the impression that @phaedo1732 's tool wasn't handling matrix equations for you. Are you just having a problem with how FM to MIF handles them? In that case, sure try hitting up the FM folks - see https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#framemaker for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including FrameMaker.

It's really both issues. I've written to @phaedo1732 but not heard
anything back, which is fine given that it's a work of charity. the
MIF file generated doesn't have the latex code as far as I can make
out, but the latex strings are a good first start for things. Given
that I have to get this book done I'll be saving the chapters as RTF
files, opening them in word and then equation-by-equation entering the
latex code in Word. Kind of a pain, but at least it's a solution given
that I'm under a timeline. thanks!
