create a List of Figures with chapter names ?

I want to create a list of figures for a book, but I would like to separate the list showing which chapters the figures belong to. Like:

Chapter 1

   figure 1.1

   figure 1.2

   figure 1.3

Chapter 2

   figure 2.1

   figure 2.2

   etc

While I can make the List of figures work to my liking, I have trouble figuring out a smart way to add the chapter titles?

Can you include the paragraph format that contains the chapter titles?

Yes, but the code on the referene pages won't pick up the paratext.
