These custom fonts display as circle numbers for callouts. When I "Save as PDF", they become blocks. Why?
This is probably not the cause, but ...
... be sure to embed fonts in the PDF.
If the chosen non-roman font is sufficiently odd, the substitution on a system lacking it might be very odd indeed.

When you did the SaveAsPDF, did you have the "Convert CMYK Colors to RGB" option selected? Leaving this unselected, i.e. in CMYK mode, messes up quite a number of fonts amongst other things.

The "Convert CYMK colors to RGB" check box needed to be checked. Thanks for the help!
