Hi Nina,

FrameMaker supports any element, within the constraints of applicable naming restrictions. Are you asking about one of the DITA packages?

Hello Russ,

yes, I am asking about one of the DITA packages. I want to know if FrameMaker supports the function of the element and if I can reference one DITA map into another DITA map with the element navref.

With kind regards,
Nina

Hi Nina...

You can insert a navref element into a map and add the appropriate values to the attributes .. but (in DITA 1.0) this element is supported by Eclipse output only. If you're just trying to nest ditamaps, you should use the topicref element .. you can reference a topic file or a map with topicref.

Cheers,

...scott

Hello Nina,

as far as I know, the many map elements and attributes are not really well supported in FrameMaker, as far as their idiomatic "function" in DITA is concerned. Maps in maps yet are well supported in DITA-FMX, but not in Adobes own structure application pack. I could imagine that this remains so in any "FrameMaker 9" that might come or might not come.

Hope this helps.
With kind regards.
