FameMaker 15 Backup File Issue

I am working in FM15 and I work in a group of other writers that also have FM15. My particular issue is, when I have a file open, and I select the save icon, it only saves the file, the backup file is not updated. But, if I go into File<Save, then both files update. My cube mate, when he has a file open, and selects the save icon, both his file and backup update. I've gone through all the settings I am aware of and looked online for a solution but I can not find anything.

I have Automatic Backup on Save selected along with Auto Save Every 2 minutes. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Hi Richard:

The only preference setting that matters for what you are describing is Automatic Backup on Save. I normally use Ctrl+S to save but don't remember anyone reporting this issue with 2015 nor do I see it listed here.

Do you have the most current patch? I think it is 13.0.5.547. And are you and your colleague on the same patch?

Hi Barb,

Thank you for your response. Yes our IT group pushes out the same patches and we are current. I've had other "weird" issues so maybe I just need to get it reinstalled. Incidentally, Ctrl+S works and saves the backup with the same date as the working file, its just the silly save icon where I have the issue.

Yes, I suppose that would be the next logical step. Or if you are going to uninstall/reinstall anyway, you could try deleting your Fm preferences. Substitute the folder called 14 for the one called 13 in this post:
