FM 8 hangs when creating PDF

Guest

Out of the blue, FrameMaker hangs when creating a PDF. Nothing has changed on the machine, the application, or the files. I rebooted the machine, I reinstalled FrameMaker - nothing helps.

I can create the PDFs just fine on another machine.

FM8p277

OS = Vista Enterprise SP2

I know that FM8 is no longer supported, but we can't upgrade to 10 because it will break our automation and our localization flow. I have to wait until after our current software release is done before I will be allowed to upgrade.

Our build is down until I can resolve this issue, so the pressure is enormous.

Thanks,

Karen

How are you creating pdfs? Do you have Acrobat on the computer? If so what version?

Hi Michael,

We are using a FrameScript that has worked flawlessly for a very long time.

I don't think that FM uninstalled completely, because I was not prompted for my serial number after reinstalling. Can anyone point me to information that tells how to manually uninstall FM8? I'd like to try that next.

Thanks,

Karen

Hi Michael,

I forgot to answer all of your question. Acrobat 9 Professional is installed on the machine.
