FrameMaker 12 v 12.0.4, saving book as PDF "Adobe frameMaker 12 has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly." The book updates just fine but stops as above when trying to save as a PDF. (Of course leaving all files locked) Any suggestions?

Try printing to a postscript file and then manually running Distiller on that file. You should get an error message in the Distiller log that will show you where the problem occurred in the output. It most likely is a graphic that is causing the problem.

Performed as directed - the distiller appeared to process the ps file fine but the following error was generated:

    %%[ Error: syntaxerror; OffendingCommand: ) ]%%

%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%

%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

That doesn’t tell me much. You?

Were there any page numbers (e.g. "%%Pages:22")  shown before the error? If so, check the FM file that has that last physical page count. Look at the page after the last count value.

If it happens immediately, then is the AdobePDF printer instance installed as your FM session default printer? Which Acrobat joboptions file was specified?
