Framemaker 2019 does not start any longer

Explorer ,
Jan 06, 2026 Jan 06, 2026

Hello community,
I have a Framemaker 2019 purchase license and also a Technical Communication Suite subscription since December. I need both for my work. Last year, the parallel use worked without any problems, but since this year I can no longer start Framemaker 2019 because it can no longer be activated. What can I do to make it work again?
Any help is welcome.

See https://helpx.adobe.com/tech-comm-suite/kb/deprecated-internet-explorer-10-with-ims.html - this may be the issue. Otherwse contact the FM folks - see https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#framemaker for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including FrameMaker.

Hi Udo,

In your post you wrote that you installed FrameMaker 2019 and the Technical Communication Suite. Does this mean that you installed FM 2019 and then the TCS with FM 2022 in parallel?

In your post you said that you cannot start FM 2019. However, your screenshot says Technical Communication Suite.

Which Windows version do you have? FM 2019 might run on Windows 11, but there can be issues. Only FM 2022 is guaranteed to run on Windows 11.

Best regards, Winfried

Hi Winfried,

Thanks for your reply. Yes FM 2019 and TCS 2022 in parallel under Windows 11 (updated from 10).

There weren't any issues last year. I think FM 2019 tries to get a new activation for 2026 and that fails.
We want to switch to FM 2022 but the production environment is still FM 2019.
Best regards, Udo

Thank you very much for the infos.

You might try to create a VirtualBox with Windows 10 and see, if you can install FM 2019 there.

Otherwise wait that tcssup@adobe.com give you support.

It might be that they just say that FM 2019 will not run on Windows 11.

Here are some threads about FM 2019 and Windows 11:

Thank you again. I will check it.
We seem to have the same issue for Framemaker Server 2019 on Windows Server 2022.

Good that there are options to fix it.

@Udo29519402o23a, did you hear back from them? For what it's worth, I'm still running FM12 on a Win11 machine with no issues, so I suspect FM2019 shouldn't have an issue either.

Hello Jeff,
thank you for your repy. I need to order admin rights to check the first option. I did.
And I have created a ticket for the Adobe support. The link is very helpful.
