Why does FrameMaker 12 crash sometimes when saving a file to PDF? Had this trouble with FM 11, too.

We’re all assuming you’ve loaded the FM12 update that just came out to fix the book to PDF crash issue?

    Hello and thanks for responding!

I have uploaded the FM12 update that came out last week. This morning I

have saved several of my document files from FM to PDF with no trouble. If

the problem appears again, I'll come back to this forum to let you know.

Again, thanks for all the responses!

As Art asks, can you provide some more details on this? Was an FM log file generated for the crash? Have you sent that to fmerror@adobe.com to let the enginers know about your issue? Is there a log file produced from Distiller during the processing or does FM crash before the process gets to that stage? Is there a .tps file created? What jobotions are you specifying for the PDF creation? etc.

Does it crash when you Print to the Adobe printer instance instead of using

    SaveAs PDF?

Is the Adobe printer set as your system default?

And finally, what is your environment? OS / RAM / file location / any other

    bits and pieces?

Well, that's a nice .sig, but it doesn't answer any of the questions, Rocky.
