Question

How can I resolve the following postscript error: [ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: ct_T3HdrDict

I know the error is caused by using a character definition that uses the Courier font (indicating 'user input' in a technical documentation document). FM indicates that Courier is an available font.

Which version of FM & Distiller? Are you using Save As PDF or printing to file and then Distilling? What joboptions are you using? Are you embedding the fonts?

Hi Arnis! Thanks for responding.

I'm using FM 10.0.2.419 (in the TCS), Distiller version is 10.1.323. I'm using Save as PDF.

For the PDF Job Options I've tried both Standard and High Quality Print. I'm not sure about the embedding of fonts. Where would that be mentioned? I couldn't find an option for that in the PDF Setup dialog.

Found and checked all the settings you mentioned, but still get the same error. The operating system is Windows 7.

I encountered the same issue. Were you ever able to resolve this? I am currently running Distiller 10.0.0.396, FM 10.0.2.419, and Professional 10.0.0.0 on Windows 7.

In order to get an EPS file to print from a printer with the correct transparency, I have to print using the "Save As PDF" option from the file menu so I can deselect the "Convert CMYK Colors to RGB". I found that the book file received this ct_T3HdrDict error, so I tried printing my files separately. Turns out the Front file prints beautifully, but not the Body file.

My Body file has imported Adobe Illustrator files, which I read on a different forum could cause problems with Distiller (and open a whole other can of worms for me...) But when you mentioned the Courier font issue, I discovered that Windows 7 does NOT have Courier, but Courier New (sorry if this is old news - I'm new to 7). I replaced all instances of Courier in my document with Courier New, and the Save As PDF option now works for me. I used the Fonts pod to easily replace the fonts (View > Pods > Fonts).

Hope that helps.
