How do I force a table footnote number in a loose text frame?

I have some loose text frames which are not part of the main text flow. These text frames holds tables with table footnotes. I need to have the table footnotes to start at a specific number. I can't use the books numbering properties. I would expect it was possible to force a specific number as the first but can't figure out where?

What's happening when you try?

A modest hack for this is for the Table to have a borderless footer row. Put the footnote text in there as an ordinary numbered list. Cite from the table as Xrefs by {superscripted} $paranumonly.

This is probably the solution. When I merely use the table footnote function, it will start at a or 1. And it seems I cannot force it to starte at, for instance, 5

Yep, Table footnotes don't use Paragraph Format auto-numbering. At a glance, the only way to force an initial something other than the cardinal entry in the internal counting list would be to have some invisible Tfs "consume" the undesired numbers.

The full-straddle invisible footer row AN:Xrefs hack might be the cleanest, in terms of making the thing comprehensible to future document stewards.
