How to create numbering with Leading Zeros FrameMaker

Please help, if this is possible. I need the master page to create a numbering sequence for the pages, and the chapters that will look like this (including the leading zeros). Do you know if the program has that capability?

1-001 (where 1- is the chapter and 001 is the page)

1-002

1-003 ... 1-999

2-001 (where 2- is the chapter and 001 is the page)

2-002

2-003 ... 2-999

Etc.

I suspect you have to fake it out (I've never needed to use leading zeros) - see Klaus's page on this - https://www.daube.ch/docu/files/numbering-leading0.pdf

Here's another hack:
Customizing Autonumbering

Where's it's just a matter of presentation, and not semantics (or antyhing that would show up in lists or xrefs), you can also just use really large values, in text frames that aren't big enough for the leading digits).

For small numbers of numbers, you can also use Xref to Reference Pages containing text strings that look like numbers.

But FM really needs an enhancement to support not just LZ, but arbitrary counting sequences & indicators.
