Define overflow.

Do you mean text that is hidden below the bottom edge of a disconnected frame?

FM won't show you the content that overflows, but it will show you the container (i.e. text frame) that has overflowed. If you turn on the Borders feature in the View menu, then if a text frame has content that has overflowed (i.e. you can't see it), then the bottom of the texframe is drawn with a solid line instead of the dashed line used for the rest of the borders.
