Question

Is Microsoft Visual Studio Pro 2012 usable with FDK for FrameMaker 11?

I've been tasked to export an SGML file from a structure FrameMaker 11 file.  The documentation calls for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, but I've got Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.  Is 2012 compatible?

I'd assume that you'll run into trouble .. but it might work.

You may want to send your question to the "frame_dev" Yahoo group, since that'll get to people who may have tried it.

fowlerjj,

I don't know, but I second Scott's suspicions. I will mention that you can still get Visual Studio 2010 Express, which is free and will work. There is something to do with a resource file that has to be manually created or included, something like that, but otherwise it will compile an FDK11 client. It will probably run OK on the same machine as VS2012. If you think this might be an option, I'd suggest getting it as soon as possible, because who knows how long Microsoft will continue to make it available.
