Issue formatting TOC entries

Explorer ,
Mar 07, 2023 Mar 07, 2023

Hi,

I am in the midst of trying to format the TOC for a book.
I am able to get a L1 HeadTOC entries to look the way I want, but the Chapter TitleTOC and remaining chapter names and L1Head- Same PageTOC aren't changing. What am I missing?

I am including screenshots of the Reference page and the TOC.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Elizabeth

Hi,

Yes, I've seen that thread.

But, I'm not sure what I actually need to need to fix my situation.

Thank you.

Well, it appears that your tab stops aren't set the same & you're missing a tab in your Reference page in there to push over the pagenum.

Can you describe what you want it to look like?
And perhaps what the \r or \t (hard to be sure) markup is expected to do?

  • Remove the \t s: those are the tab character used in a dialog box. On a page, just tap the Tab key.
  • Remove duplicate tabs: you need one tab character between <$paratext> and <$pagenum> on each line.
  • You overlooked the very first line—which may or may not be in use.
  • Once cleaned up on the reference page, update all styles and remove overrides if asked.
  • Update the book.
