(I'm working with Adobe FrameMaker 8)
I'm placing images into a table, and for some reason the image in the first row of each page does not appear in the .pdf file I print of the book. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated - I've tried placing rows above each of the first rows and simply setting the shading so that the cells appear invisible, and it still doesn't work. That makes me think it might not be a table-related thing.
Thanks!

Would you post your system info -- OS/RAM/etc. and version info (FM and
Acrobat, and whether you're using the full version of Acrobat or the
stripped down version shipped with FM?

Hmmm, just noticed ...
I'm running version 8.0p266 of FrameMaker.
Windows 7 Professional
64-bit Operating System
I suspect that FM8 is not supported in Win7 or 64-bit Windows (any version).
I also suspect that it works reasonably well in Win7 32-bit, and if not,
then in XP32 Mode of Win 7 (which is available at no cost for Win 7 Pro).
Then there's the question of how you are generating PDFs.
Are you using the PDF tools bundled with FM8, which may
in fact not work in Win7 ...
or are you using a later version of Acrobat[Pro],
hopefully installed AFTER FM8.

I just tried printing it as a .pdf rather than saving it as a .pdf, and the images now show up. So I'm assuming you were all right when it comes to something is wrong with the different programs interacting together. The thing is that I NEVER print as .pdf, I always save it as a .pdf. Why now?
On the bright side....I think I discovered every single setting in Frame today.

I should also mention - there are still problems with this table (Error7103, you are right - when I select the cell and hit Delete, the row just collapses very small, but it's still there. The content is just gone.....I don't get it)

... when I select the cell and hit Delete, the row just collapses very small, but it's still there.
I'd expect that when you select a cell, but how about when you select what you think is the entire row?
If you've got hidden columns, select a couple of cells, then:
Edit > Select All of Table
Table > Resize Columns ...
<*> To Equal Widths ...
That will make the mystery column(s) (if any) appear.
If they exist, their contents and Paragraph Formats might be interesting.

Beth,
could you post a screenshot of the table situation in FrameMaker (with borders and text symbols visible) and what ends up in the PDF?

This is one of the sections of the table in Frame Maker:
And this is what ends up in the .pdf:
This table extends over three pages, and on every page the first row of the table is missing it's image. Thanks any help you can offer!

Beth,
This looks ugly and it reminds me of some problem with tables and shading. But before we access that, please upgrade your FrameMaker to the latest patch release, you are missing two patches, available here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=22&platform=Windows
As the problem seems to be bound to the first cell in the first column, I would suggest to test the situation with an invisible column added to the left of the existing columns. If the patches don’t help.

Alright - I've upgraded with the latest patches and I added a column to the left of the images.....it's still showing up with the same problem. I tried the same thing with adding an invisible row above the first column and that hadn't worked either.

What are the formats of the images? Are they all imported by reference, or copied?

Random thoughts ...
Is there any chance that the master page has some art element at upper left with run-around enabled?
My remaining comments probably have no bearing on the disappearing content:
If the keypad art exists as vector art (AI, DXF, DWG, SVG, etc), get it saved as vector EPS and import that (by reference). The preview in Frame is coarse, but it retains max quality in the output at any size.
For the anchoring paragraph format in the left cells, I would use a format with "Alignment: Center", and anchor the art "At insertion point", at or slightly below baseline. That auto-centers and eliminates the extra blank space now seen. Set Cell Vertical Alignment in Advanced as desired.

Another weird thing...
When I select the first row of the table on each page and press Delete, all of the content and the cells disappear. For every other row, it asks me if I want to remove just the content or if I want to remove the content and the cells.

When I select the first row of the table on each page and press Delete, all of the content and the cells disappear.
That is truly odd. Normally, Frame won't perform an immediate delete unless you are selecting less than an entire row or entire column.
If you had some hidden columns (width re-sized to 0), you could do an immediate delete on the content, but the cells would remain.
Do check, however, that the cells are really disappearing, and not just collapsing in vertical height so that the empty row flows back to the bottom of the previous page.
And it's not likely that it's treating the 2nd and subsequent first rows as continuation header, because then you couldn't select them at all.
I'd be tempted to create a new clean table, and paste the content in, one cell group at a time.

I think I'll have to create an entirely new file/chapter, because I've tried creating a new table AND taking exisiting tables from old documents (some of which had images in them that showed up fine in the .pdf) and neither of those seemed to work. Any table in this document, either copied in or created from scratch, has this problem. So at the very least I know this is not just a problem with the table...not that that really helps anything.

Also, as far as I can tell there is nothing on either the body pages or the master pages with runaround enabled.

The ones that are currently in there were just "Paste Special"ed in. I also tried importing them as JPEG and then as a Bitmap, which seemed to make no difference.
