There are 4 numbered styles.
- Numbered
- Numbered1 (for the first in a list)
- Subnumbered1 (for the first in a list - 2nd level in a hierarchy)
- Subnumbered
Numbered 1 is used, followed by 3 instances of Numbered.
Then when I apply Numbered again, I want the number to be 2 (the next level list is based on the alphabet, not numeric).
However, the next number was 5.
The building blocks in defining Numbered = <n+>< >< >.\t
How do I fix this?
I will be covering this in the Feb 22 webinar, but this blog post may also help in the meantime.

Anyone who can help with this is apt to need to see the building blocks for all the numbered Paragraph tags, and examples of the full display strings they generate.
It won't arrive in time for your project, but Barb has a webinar on this topic next month:

What are the building blocks defining Subnumbered? Also, do you have a series label?

If it something like this:
Then the numbering codes are:
N0 Numbered 1 = M:<n=1>.\t
N0 Numbered + = M:<n+>.\t
N1 Numbered 1 = M:<n=1>.\t
N1 Numbered + = M:<n+>.\t
If you are channging the M to an N (or something) you can completely separate the numbering sequences

Thank you. Not sure I completely caught that. I will get back to you - under too much pressure elsewhere to try this solution now.

Thank you! That looks beautififul, promising, and clear. No chance now to implement and test, but I will get back to you if it works for me.

Suddenly, I had to solve this problem urgently. This solution worked perfectly and great thing that it was ready to immediately implemenet. Thanks!
