Hello,

I will be designing an 8 page user guide in Framemaker 12.

The booklet pages will be A5 size.

I will be printing onto A4 paper.

What is the best way to achieve this?

Thanks,

Frank

    Well, I've just been dealing with what turned out to be an eight-page booklet – and got away with leaving the printer to do the work, by selecting 'booklet' as the layout option. Another approach I've heard mentioned is to use an imposition tool (Quite Imposing is a name I seem to remember) on a .pdf

    I suppose it might be possible to set up a number of different frames and tweak the linking, but I think I'd prefer a solution where rearranging the content to match the page-order of the output was something I didn't have to think about :-}

    Hi,

    When you were creating your booklet, did you select your Page Size as A5 in Framemaker before you started your document?

    I had begun my document but realised it was A4 so now I have to redo it in A5 from the beginning.

    No, I did it all in A4 – since the proportions are the same – but used fonts large enough to be readable after the printer had reduced the size. 11pt Arial seems OK to me, though this is obviously a matter of taste.
