Space between the end of a table and a text entry

Hi,

In FM 2020, I have a table that continues over two pages. Within the table I have rows that have superscript. The definition for that superscript is placed after the end of the table. Is there a way to decrease the space between the end of the table and the text that explains the superscript. There is currently too much space between the end of the table and that text.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Elizabeth

Ah, then the relevant property is defined in the Table designer:

For some applications, rather than use text below table, or table footnote, I add a row to the table bottom, full-straddle, borderless left/bottom/right. Put the table footnotes in that cell, numbering as needed, and Xref to them in the table contents (which also makes them hypertext in e-formats including PDF).

Assuming your superscript is a Footnote Reference.

The distance between "end of table" and "start of (table) footnotes" is defined by a frame on the Reference Page named reference:

To change the distance change the hight of the frame. The text obove the fame is just for you to see the name of the frame.

The informtion I added as a superscript was an asterisk (*) which I placed in the first area where I could add text, which was below the table. The area where I placed his text is a little too far from the end of the table and looks as if it doesn't belong there. I didn't use the footmote capability.

Hi Elizabeth,

I do not know, if this is what you mean: In the table designer there is the bottom table margin. This sets the space between the table and the following text.

Could you possible post a screenshot here? With borders and text symbols.

Best regards

Winfried

And another question: Do you have the same space also after all of your other tables? Or do you have this space only in this table?

Sometimes I encountered a bug that the space after a table was too wide. It had to do with the row height and possibly with my two-column layout.

Please find a screenshot attached.

The rows that contain the superscript are located many rows above what’s seen in the screenshot. The other tables are the same space. I am only updating the content for this particular table.

If you want to change the bottom margin, then go to the table designer, change this value and click Apply so that only this particular table is charged. See Klaus' screenshot.
