Structure Application Developer's Guide

New Here ,
Feb 26, 2009 Feb 26, 2009
I've just installed FrameMaker 9.0p196 as part of Technical Communication Suite 2 and I'm having a look around the application to get the feel of it.

There does not seem to be a Structure Application Developer's Guide available for the application, despite it being mentioned in the User Guide:
"For information on creating a structured application and EDD, see the Structured Application Developers Guide, located in the OnlineManuals folder in the FrameMaker9 folder."

There is no OnlineManuals folder, and its replacement, which seems to be the Documents folder, doesn't contain the Structure Application Developer's Guide either. I have tried looking online for it, but without success.

Does anyone know where I might find this document, or indeed if it exists?

Thanks,

Jon

Jon,

I do not have version 9 yet, but in the past this manual was in:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker7.2\OnlineManuals

Of course, you say it is not there. There is also a Structure folder; try there.

Hope others can provide better info,
Van

Hi Jon

I have not seen the Structure Application Developer Guide or Reference for version 9 yet. However very little has changed so you should be able to use the version 8 documents which are located here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/framemaker/?trackingid=ZLQL#structured

You will also arrive at the same location if you click the Structured Application Development link on the FM9 start-up screen.

Regards

Ian

Hi Van and Ian,

Thanks for your responses. I already have the FrameMaker 8 version, so I'll use that pending a FrameMaker 9 version appearing.

Regards,

Jon

To Ian:

Off topic, but do you remember an short conversation on one of the forums regarding a FrameMaker plugin that converts paragraph styles to Format Change Lists for use in an EDD? I was wondering if you had any plans for it.
