Hi all,
is there a way to suppress the attribute window that pops up each time a new element is inserted? I searched the INI file without luck so far.

You can suppress the attribute window by going to Element->New Element Options and then clicking on “Do not Prompt for attribute values”.

Thanks for the hint!
I think had tried this but I see now that this is a document-specific option. That means I have to set it for the template files to work.

Note that if you're working with XML files, you can set this option in the structure application template, and it'll be set for all files that use that app. You may already know this, but it wasn't clear in teh thread, so I thought I'd point it out.

Yes.
Select Element > New Element Options. In the dialog box, make your choice. NOTE this choice is PER DOCUMENT and stored in the document. If you have a book, you can select all the documents in the book and then select New Element Options. Your choice is stored in all the selected documents in the book.
I do not know if there is a way to set this globally for all new documents.
