When i opened the help system, the navigation panel looked good but the content page looked small. I went to the font settings and switched to Largest, BUT all the text on the screen became smaller, around 6pt. I switched to Larger, Medium, etc, the font was much smaller. How can i make the font bigger? I hate to read small text.
Is this help system generated through FrameMaker? If yes, i am very very disappointed with FrameMaker.
BarbBinder - thank you for your feedback.
I have great news! I resolved this issue. I found an online post suggesting to look in the properties of the framemaker.exe file. So I found the file, right-clicked and selected properties, and the FrameMaker Properties form appeared. Then I chose the Compatibility tab. There is a checkbox under Settings, labeled "Override high DPI scaling behavior." so I checked that. Directly underneath is an option for "Scaling performed by:", that was set to App

What version of FM?
What operating system?
What screen size and resolution?

Can you post a screenshot of what you're talking about? It's unclear if you are referring to the help files that FM launches or help content produced by you in your copy of FM..

I have the same problem. Here is the screen shot below. The FM version is 2017. Operating system is Windows 10. Machine is Surface Studio. Resolution is 4500x3000. An alert asked me to change the adobeframemaker.ini display setting to "1", but it did not affect the Help screen.

Here it is as a PDF, which I prefer because I can save it offline and Acrobat has better search options:

Thank you, BarbBinder. that did help. However, I'm disappointed that the only solution to this obvious bug is to go to the PDF help file. I just discovered that the small text issue is also affecting the author view. The text is so small all you can see is the topic title. It's hard to believe Adobe has not addressed this.

This is a good place to list issues with FrameMaker that you want reviewed by the FrameMaker team; Tracker.

This issue is RESOLVED!

HI -Does anyone have a solution for this problem for today - using FM2022? I just loaded FM on one of my engineer's devices and the top menu lines of the FM application are not readable at all. I'm not locating any Framemaker.exe file on the machine - I assume things have changed over the years. Is there another solution?

Since this is presumably now Windows 11, perhaps the first thing to optimize is the system scaling:
⊞Start ⇢ ⚙Settings ⇢ 🖵System ⇢ 🖵Display ⇢ 🞖Scale

HI Thanks,
But no, that would change *all* apps, and the others are just fine - no need to change them. I did come across now - a way to solve, that is exactly as described here below. However, instead of looking for the file, Now, in Windows11 - just right click the FM icon on the bottom toolbar, to get to its properties (i.e. to the properties of the current Framemaker.exe running on the machine) and via the Compatibility tab, check the box "Override high DPI scaling behavior", as described in 2017 - still works today.
