UI Suggestion: Add buttons to view Master, Reference, Body pages to the Quick Access toolbar

I was creating a TOC from scratch today and realized how nice it would be to have buttons to flip back and forth between types of pages, rather than using the menus, or even the shortcuts.

I'd be happy to have them added to the Quick Access toolbar, but would be even happier to get a new Template Design toolbar that also includes buttons for the Table, Object, Para, and Character Designers.

I usually use Alt V B B to return to body pages, with similar shortcuts to master and reference. But even these shortcuts are cumbersome when flipping back and forth every few minutes.

I posted a tracker item at https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/FRMAKER-11137 if you'd like to upvote it for a patch or new release feature.

    Hi Matt,

First: Happy New Year (at best: with an end of corona)

Second: I guess, you already know my Enhanced Tool Bar

    Hi Klaus,

You've certainly put a lot of work into your Enhance Toolbar, and there are a number of nifty things it can do!

I can see the ETB Extra functions giving me what I would like to see, but to avoid confusion, I also need to hide the extra functionality when I record FrameMaker for my courses and screenshot FrameMaker for my books.

That list of options includes the "16" menu, and the "Save document as old version" option, as they would confuse folks trying to learn about the standard install of the application.

Is there currently a way for me to do that in the ETB config?

    Hi Matt,

With the exception of the 16-menu you get Plain FM with a switch of the workspace (e.g. to Authoring).

To get rid of the special menu 16, ETB must be de-installed (start menu > D+DD > (De-)Installation FM-16 Toolbars en. But if this has to bedone 5 times a day, it's not convenient.

Give me a few days to create a special Matt-version of ETB without the menu 16, so that you just need to switch dhe workspace for your recording.

How about a customizable quick access bar like Microsoft or Acrobat?

Hah, thanks David, for noting I'd copied the link from my other request...to move the structured items out of the quick access bar itself. I've edited the link above to match (your correctly provided) link.

The link to vote for the relocation of the structured buttons is https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/FRMAKER-11136
