What is psfile.ps file?

I am working with a set of FrameMaker files that contain information about mutual funds. These files are included in a FrameMaker book file. During our publishing process, we need to separate each mutual fund in the FrameMaker files into its own postscript file. I use an internally designed application that allows me to do this. Recently, this application began malfunctioning on some users computers. The application throws errors, then FrameMaker crashes. I have been able to resolve the issue on my computer so that the application parses all of the files successfully. I can’t seem to resolve the issue on another computer.

On this computers a psfile.ps file is being created. When I opened it and viewed the file in NotePad, it contains mark-up. In the comments, the purpose of the file is described as follows:
Define RunFile operator called SuperRunFile, capable of detecting and processing DOS-format EPS files with binary preview headers. Optionally resets page size to enclose EPS. Also ensures a showpage is done.

Why is this file being created? Is this contributing to the problems that I am having?

Just me but I don't see how this is an Acrobat issue.

The most probable culprit appears to be the internally designed application.

Be well...
