When I exit Frame Maker, my saved image in doc is deleted automatically in Adobe Frame Maker. This happens when I exit Adobe frame maker and change the location of saved images on my computer file. Even if I delete images from local, it is deleted in Adobe frame Maker document. Please suggest how to resolve this?

Sounds like your images are added into the doc by reference (which is the best practice), not by copying (which bloats the size of your FM files). Best idea is to keep your images in one location relative to the location of the docs - that way if you move the FM project, the images come too and no links are broken.

I insert the image by insert tools. Can't I delete images once I insert them in the FM doc? Because this happened before,  I deleted the image from folder and all images are auto deleted from FM doc.

When you insert by reference, you're making a link to the image file & its location. This is its strength - if you need to update an image, all you do is substitute in a new image file (with the same name) into the file location, and your changed image magically appears changed in FM.

You would have to insert them by copying, not by reference.

Hi,

When you want to save the image in the FrameMaker file, then you have to import by copy and not by reference. Although import by reference is far better! Otherwise the FrameMaker file can get very large.

I do not have FrameMaker open now. Therefore I could be wrong. When you import via File | Import | File, then there is an option to change to import by copy.

You can also import via Insert | Image . This should get you to the same dialog.

Everything is explained in the online help:

https://help.adobe.com/en_US/framemaker/2019/using/using-framemaker-2019/user-guide/frm_text_tx-impo...

Best regards, Winfried
