FM 7.2 Crash 7204...

Hi,

I have Framemaker7.2p158, Windows XP.
When I try to open one specific file : it cause in FM Internal Error :

Alma, we can't diagnose crashes based on the error message that you posted, as that's info that only Adobe engineers would be able to understand.

Is the problem file a structured or unstructured file? If it's unstructured then it would be better to post your question again on the unstructured section of the forum, instead of here, so that more folks might be able to assist you:

Sorry, the message wass not complete.

I have tried to open this file in FrameMaker 8, same crash.
I have tried to open previous/futur version of this file in FrameMaker 7.2, same crash.

All others files can be well opened.

I have tried to open this file in other PC with FrameMaker 7.2 and it works without crash.

So, i have decided to remove FM 7.2, delete folder FrameMaker 7.2 and re-install without my custom (dll): same crash.

I have added my custom (dll) same crash.

I don't want to format my pc for a file :)

Have you an idea how to fix this problem?

Alma,

I sometimes encounter crashes when working with conditional text. Once the crash happens, the file will open but continue to crash. My workaround is to open the file, open a BLANK copy of my template file, switch to the corrupted file, open the structure view, select the root element, and COPY it. Then switch to the blank template file, PASTE, and save the file with a new name. This seems to remove whatever corruption is the file that makes it crash. Once you determine that the new file is OK, you can rename it to match the old file.

No guarantee that this will work for you, but it works for me.

Hi everybody,

I have read this forum http://objectmix.com/adobe-framemaker/218657-internal-error-fm-7-0-a.html.

And it helps me solve my crash.

It seems that my profile was the source of the crash.

I have restarted my PC, and it works without crash.

I think that my profile was cleaned during the restart.
