Fonts problem of MIF translated into Korean

An English MIF was translated for us into Korean.

When we read the MIF file into FM11 we see questions-marks (?????) instead of the actual text.

If we copy&paste the question-marks-text into MS Word we see the Korean fonts looking good.

If we we create a PDF from that MIF file then the bookmarks look fine but the actual text is scrambled - here is how it looks:

Appreciate any related assistance.

Thanks,

Eitan

Thanks for all your answers. Here is what worked for me.

I found this link: Korean Unicode Fonts and installed the font "Adobe Myungjo Std M" and changed the style of the FrameMaker replacing the previous font with this font, and it seems to be working.

Thanks again,

When you do Asia language in FM, you should change your windows system to Korea, then you will find Format -->Document-->Combined Fonts.

Click Add-->Done

Then you can find this combined Font in Character Designer, you just need to change the file's fonts is OK.

You should also check the encoding of the font. Is it a unicode encoded font that is being used or a font using characters in non-standard locations?

Sounds a lot like FM has no idea of the Korean font that your using – might want to check if it’s installed and if FM can “see” it?
