FrameMaker 10 Metadata

New Here ,

I need to add metadata to my Frame files but am having problems. If I access file info from the book or the documents, and delete all the metadata that is already there, it keep pulling up data from somewhere. The same thing happens if I just change the data, it doesn't keep what I change and goes back to this other data. Where would it be getting this other data and why is it not saving my changes?

Hi,

Metadata in a book file sometimes overrides metadata in a document file. If your document is part of a book file, open the book file and select the document before you add metadata.

Regards

Harpreet.

As I stated above, it isn't making any difference whether I change it from the book file, or from the document file, I am having the same problem. And I am also tryign to understand where it is pulling the data that it has because it is not data I have entered, so it's getting it somewhere, but where?

If I remember right, FrameMaker books look to the first file in the book

for metadata and it doesn't matter what the metadata says in the other

files in the book.
