I would like to hide the welcome/splash screen in Framemaker 12. In FrameMaker 11 there was an option for that in the maker.ini, but I can not find that option in maker.ini 12. Can anybody enlighten me on this?
regards
Bjørn
Hi Bjorn
You need to *add* the entry to your maker.ini. This works for me:
[Preferences]
;--------------------------- Misc preferences ------------------------------
; The period MUST be used for specifying the decimal point.
DontShowWelcomeScreen=on
AskExit=Off

Have you tried adding SplashScreen=Off in the [Preferences] section of the maker.ini?

Hi Arnis Gubins
Thanks for your reply. I do not seem to have such an entry in my maker.ini.
The preferences section looks like this for FrameMaker 12:
[Preferences]
ToolBarIconsColor=Colored
ToolBarIconsSize=Large
SessionRestoreInfoSerializedOnCrash=Off
LastUsedWorkSpaceInUnStructuredMode=Blank
AutoCollapseIconicPods=Off
AutoShowHiddenPods=On
HidePodsOnClose=Off
OpenDocsAsTabs=On
HideSingleTabsInDocs=On
PreventDocTabbingWhenDragging=Off
OpenCompDocsAsTabs=On
ToolTipMode=Normal
UIBrightness=1
UseGrayScaleAppIcon=Off
UnresolvedCrossReferencesDialog=On
OpeningOldReleaseDocDialog=Off
UnsupportedHotspotShapesDialog=On
UnavailableFontsDialog=On
DictionaryProviderMismatchDialog=On
UnsupportedFileFormatForModeDialog=On
UnsupportedFileFormatForViewDialog=On
ShowAlertsOnSessionRestore=Off
MenuSet=Complete
LastActiveView=WYSIWYG View
CrossPlatformFileNaming=Windows
Snap=Off
Gravity=Off
CheckoutOnOpen=On
UploadOnSave=On
best regards
Bjørn

What Arnis is suggesting is that you add one, and see what happens.
It wouldn't be the first time that FM has had an inadequately documented ini setting that isn't present by default.
