Can't tap any other tools after drawing with vector brush

After I draw anything using the vector brush, I'm then unable to switch to other tools or brushes. I can't erase, switch brushes, open my layers, or any of the menu options. Tried tapping using the Apple Pencil as well as my fingers. Nothing!

The only workaround I've found is that I have to do the 2-finger undo action, which means I have to constantly undo my strokes before I am able to switch to anything.

This only happens when I use the vector brushes. Pixel and live brushes work as expected.
