Fresco and photoshp brushes

New Here ,
Jan 22, 2024 Jan 22, 2024

I was led to believe that photoshop brushes work in Fresco.

I bought a photoshop brush set, but Fresco rejects them.

I do not have photoshop. Can anyone help.

Thanks

Lawrence

Hello @lawrencek5141610,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with using Photoshop brushes in Fresco. To assist you better, could you please share the brush set that you're trying to use? You can upload the brush set file to Google Drive, Dropbox, or a similar service and share the link here or send it to me via direct message.

Additionally, when you say Fresco rejects them, are you encountering any error messages or issues during the import process? Any details you provide will help in diagnosing the problem more accurately.

Once I have more information, I'll do my best to help you resolve this.

Best,

Anshul Saini

Hi Anshul

Thank you so much for replying.

I bought the brushes from Creative Market. They're called Shader Brushes for Photoshopby Pixelbuddha

The problem is that when I load them through the 'Add brushes' in the drop down list of brushes, they appear to import. Then when I open the brush folder, they begin to disappear with the notification 'Unsupportable brushes'.

Here is a link to my Dropbox.

Thanks

Thank you for sharing the brush file. We've forwarded the information to our product team for further investigation. Please allow them some time to analyze the issue. We'll get back to you once we have more information or a resolution.

In the meantime, please let us know if you have any additional details or encounter any other issues. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Regards,

Anshul

Thank you for your patience, @lawrencek5141610. I've checked with our product team, and they provided a list of possible reasons why this brush may not be supported in Fresco:

  1. Bristle tips
  2. Erodible tips
  3. Airbrush tips
  4. Brushes that have too large of a 'stamp' image.
  5. Brushes that are too large or have an unsupported format of a 'pattern' image.

These might be the reasons for the issue you're experiencing. In such cases, it's challenging to make these brushes work in Fresco due to the differences in functionality and capabilities between Photoshop and Fresco.

Regards,

Anshul

I see. Thank you for your time. I will be more wary in the future. I'm loving Fresco and look forward to what you have in store for its further development.

Hi Anshul

I have another question. Do those who open up purchased custom brushes in Photoshop, with the same factors and limitations that prevent direct installation into Fresco ( Bristle tips, Erodible tips etc.), go on to have the same issues in Fresco?
