Lost my saved illustration in Fresco!

I've been working on an illustration over the last few weeks (spent numerous hours on it) and was going to add the final touches this evening. Prior to doing this I freed up some space in my Creative Cloud by deleting then permanently deleting a large number of illustrations. I've then gone to open my current project and am devastated to see that it's disappeared! I know I DEFINITELY didn't delete or permanently delete it as I wouldn't.  (even had I mistakenly deleted I would have then realised when I was permanently deleting) Hours and hours of work gone! I've checked the Creative Cloud and it's not there. I'm gutted : ( 

Any ideas what's happened? I work on my iPad Air (4th gen)
